Artificial intelligence found winners at the RUSSIA EXPO

Winners and runners-up of the All-Russian Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence among schoolchildren were awarded at the International RUSSIA EXPO. The event was held on the platform "Knowledge.Lecture Hall".

"Of course, artificial intelligence is a step forward, it is important that this sphere is progressing in our country. This is the formation of our technological sovereignty. And this is happening thanks to you, among others," – Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, addressed the schoolchildren. He presented awards to four winners of the Olympiad and eight runners-up.

Sergey Kravtsov asked the winners how they see the prospects of artificial intelligence. The children answered that artificial intelligence is, first of all, a tool that makes people's lives easier, allows them to automatize routine tasks and solve them faster and more efficiently. In addition, the schoolchildren pointed out that AI Olympiads help to find like-minded people and form a large community across the country.

The winners of the Olympiad of the first degree were: Ilya Grinyuk (Moscow region), Nikita Ilyatkov (Novosibirsk region), Zakhar Gryaznev (Moscow), Andrey Khlopotnykh (St. Petersburg). Second prize winners: Pavel Zhuchkov (Kaluga region), Vyacheslav Chertan (Kemerovo region), Timur Garifullin (Republic of Bashkortostan), Igor Dyshlevsky (Tyumen region). Third prize winners: Nikita Taushkanov (Novosibirsk region), Artyom Kukovyakin (Moscow), Vadim Vetrov (Orel region), Artem Turevich (Moscow).

The All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren of 8–11 grades who are passionate about programming and artificial intelligence has been held in Russia since 2021. During this time, it has brought together about 40 thousand participants. Young programmers solve problems based on real data from VK, take part in career guidance and entertainment events, and meet with experts in the field of artificial intelligence.

The final competitions were held at the Innopolis University in the Republic of Tatarstan. 50 high school students from Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Orel, Orenburg, Novosibirsk, Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Omsk, Tyumen, Kaluga, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad regions, Udmurtia, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Republic of Bashkortostan and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area participated in them.

All-Russian Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence 2023 is held within the framework of the implementation of the federal project Artificial Intelligence of the national program Digital Economy of the Russian Federation. The Olympiad is included in the list of Olympiads of the Ministry of Education of Russia and Olympiads recommended by the Russian Union of Schoolchildren Olympiads. The organizer of the Olympiad is the Ministry of Education of Russia, the operator is the State University of Education.
